Frequently, the artist has been asked to create a self-portrait. These are a series of self-portraits using different methods of imagery.
In the first instance, the artist created the self-portrait based on symbols of his life. These included, the University of Notre Dame, Irish ancestry, and a passion for visiting and painting lighthouses!
In this instance, the artist created an image related to the Robert Frost poem “The Road Less Traveled”. Here the artist shows the various forks in the road in his life and career, against a backdrop of the “yellow wood” referenced in Frost’s poem.
This self-portrait is pure imagery: The Engineer Becomes an Artist!
